PAGELAND — Shane Griffin has been named the new head football coach at Central High School. He will replace Trent Usher, who guided the Eagles to a 27-27 overall record and led them to the AA state playoffs every year with the exception of 2020.

Griffin brings 21 years of coaching experience and will attempt to get Central back on the winning track; the Eagles haven’t finished .500 or above since 2018. He said accepting the position is rewarding, and he looks forward to learning a new football program.
