JenCon Builders, LLC, a Monroe, N.C. based general contractor, has acquired SEC General Contractors, according to a release from the business. The purchase of SEC is part of the firm’s “strategic plan for expansion and adds a team well versed in construction of office, retail, and industrial spaces as well as adaptive reuse,” according to the release.

JenCon Builders, LLC is a full-service contractor serving the Charlotte region for more than 35 years. The firm is responsible for commercial, retail and heavy industrial construction projects in addition to extensive commercial concrete work.

“SEC is a perfect fit for JenCon as they share the same values including the view that integrity is everything”, said JenCon CEO Carroll Jenkins in a release. “That is why both of our teams have been able to thrive through the ups and downs of this volatile industry and why we have so many repeat customers.”

Jenkins, is from Pageland, and has been President of JenCon Builders since April of 2005, according to his Linkedin page (

The company’s management includes: CEO Jenkins, President Leland Bourque, Senior Vice President of Business Development Kevan Smith and Vice President of Field Operations Chris Whitaker.

“We have known the JenCon team for years, and have been impressed with the work they do,” Smith said. “JenCon’s innovative technologies, expanded team and resources, and ability to self-perform much of its work will be assets to the clients we serve as we work to deliver projects faster and more efficiently.”

JenCon will currently have offices in both Charlotte and Monroe and reports a work force of 30 employees.

JenCon Builders has experience in office remodeling, commercial construction, restaurant and retail design, heavy industrial construction and commercial concrete.
