Education candidate not qualified
South Carolina missed a golden opportunity to elect a candidate similar to outgoing Molly Spearman to be our state superintendent of education.
Kathy Fields Maness has the required master’s degree for the job. Her opponent does not have her master’s. I cannot understand how she was allowed to run for state superintendent of education.
Kathy has worked for education most of her life. Kathy Maness has also been a teacher who realizes what goes on in the classroom. She can relate to students, teachers, parents and all others in education. Her opponent has not been a teacher.
We now have someone in this important position who only knows secondhand what our students and teachers are involved in each day.
