A pedestrian was killed crossing S.C. 200 at night earlier this week.
Stephanie Redfern, 39, of Lancaster, died at a nearby medical facility after being hit about 9:25 p.m., according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.
The incident happened about a half mile south of the city of Lancaster near Reese Road.
According to the Highway Patrol, Redfern was crossing the highway when a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe struck her. There were no injuries to the driver of the vehicle, but Lancaster County EMS took Redfern to a nearby medical facility, where she later died.
No charges have been filed against the driver. The incident is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.
